The wind, the rain, and the cold temperatures didn’t stop us today!

Day 2 of the Planting Workshop at Glenn Hope Care Farms: A Success Despite the Elements!

We wrapped up Day 2 of our planting workshop under the high tunnel with a dedicated group of community members, and the York Spartan Serves team. Together, we planted over 500 plants that will soon be blooming and producing fruits for our Military Food Share Program, nourishing our veterans with healthy, nutrient-dense, organic food.

This project is about more than just farming, it’s about coming together as a community to support those who have served us. We can’t wait to see these plants grow and begin serving the veterans of our community, providing them with fresh, sustainable food that they truly deserve.

Big thanks to everyone who came out to help—your hard work and commitment mean the world. Together, we are making a difference!

What an amazing first day at our Planting Workshop at Glenn Hope Care Farm !

We had a fantastic turnout and it was truly a day of meaningful connections. Veterans from Prodigy Spectrum Management Personal Care Home joined us, as well as the York College Spartan Serves students, my childhood best friend’s parents, my godson, and many amazing individuals from our community. The energy was incredible, and it’s always so heartwarming to see people come together for such a meaningful cause.

A special shoutout to Emily Neideigh from the York County Watershed Alliance who led the Riparian Buffer Project Phase 4 today alongside Trae Sipe . Your leadership and knowledge are invaluable!

We're excited for day #2 tomorrow and hope to see even more faces as we continue to grow together.

A Heartwarming Day at VFW Post 7045!

Today, we had the honor and privilege of attending the 5th Annual Long Guns Chili Cook-off hosted by the US Mil Vets Motorcycle Club at the VFW Post 7045 in Yorkana.

It was an incredible day of community, support, and camaraderie.

We were so fortunate to share the space with Christy L. Lucas and Roots for Boots . The work Christy is doing to uplift and support veterans is truly inspiring. Today, we witnessed a beautiful moment as one of the veterans received a track chair through Christy’s service. This chair will give him the freedom to enjoy the outdoor activities he loves – from hunting and fishing, and so much more – all the things that truly bring joy to veterans’ lives.

Christy continues to make a difference by creating possibilities and renewal for the veterans of this community by helping them get back to what they love, whether it’s riding motorcycles, getting out into the woods, or even giving back to the community through military food shares.

We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support from the US Mil Vets Motorcycle Club, the VFW, and everyone who contributes to the mission of Glenn Hope Care Farm. It’s partnerships like these that make all the difference in supporting veterans and their families.

Thank you to all the incredible motorcycle clubs and organizations who show up for the veterans of this community and continue to create a community of support and service.

New Opportunity to Support Veterans at Thrifty Village

ProdigySpectrumManagementPresonalCareHome for Veterans, the profits from rhe store support the 3 personal care homes for veterans right in York City . Please come out to shop and donate at 1275 West King St.

Spring is here and bringing so much new life to Glenn Hope Care Farm!

I’m officially a chick mama again today with 100 baby peeps!

25 Barred Rocks,

25 Rhode Island Reds,

5 Buff Orpingtons,

15 Ameraucanas,

5 French New Guineas, and 1

5 Cornish Rock Crosses.

I’m already in love with every single one of them.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there! Yesterday, we welcomed a beautiful new heifer calf to the farm. Pictures to come soon, she's absolutely perfect. There’s nothing like the energy of spring, and we’re soaking up every moment of this renewing and rebirthing season. It’s my favorite time of year.

Here at Glenn Hope Care Farm, it’s not just about growing food and animals, but also about nurturing the connections that come with farming, veteran care, and women in agriculture. So much to be grateful for!

The Season of Growing is Upon Us

There is something deeply satisfying about putting your hands in the dirt, raising animals with care, and watching food grow the way it was meant to.

Around here, it’s not just farming, it’s stewardship, hard work, early mornings, muddy boots, and a whole lot of gratitude.

Nothing beats knowing exactly where your food comes from… vegetables pulled straight from the soil, protein raised right here on the farm, and meals that go from our pasture and garden straight to your fork.

That’s real food.

That’s real living.

This is the season where everything starts waking up again, fields, gardens, animals, and people who believe in good, honest food. And we’re here for every bit of it.

Farm to fork. Dirt to dinner. Let’s grow.

Hearts 4 Veterans East York Military Food Share

We donated over 300 pounds of pasture-raised pork 30 dozen fresh, free range eggs

At Glenn Hope Care Farm , this is what mission continues looks like.

We are committed to raising food ethically and sustainably, producing the most nutrient-dense, pasture-raised meats and eggs possible, not just for profit, but for purpose. Food is medicine. Farming is stewardship. And community is everything.
In collaboration with Hearts 4 Veterans and through the Military Food Share Program, we were honored to donate:

Over 300 pounds of pasture-raised pork 30 dozen fresh, pasture-raised eggs

All going directly to local Veterans and military families in need.
While we didn’t capture photos of the veterans receiving the food, I am told, the excitement and gratitude on their faces was priceless. That moment reminded us why we do this.

This is more than farming.This is more than food.This is veterans continuing to serve, just in a different uniform.

Today Glenn Hope Care Farm was proudly represented at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show

We had the honor of showcasing our grass-fed beef in the Culinary Connection, standing alongside fellow Pa Preferred producers and Homegrown By Heroes farmers who serve our communities with purpose and pride.

Even more meaningful, it was Military Appreciation Day at the Farm Show. We were humbled to share a few words of gratitude and appreciation for our active-duty service members and veterans who continue to give so much in service to our country and our communities.

From the farm to the table, from service to stewardship, this is why we do what we do.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported local agriculture, and honored those who serve.

Healing With Animals at Glenn Hope Care Farm

Many Veterans who come to Glenn Hope Care Farm have spent years in survival mode, always alert, always responsible for others, always pushing through.

Out here, with the animals, something shifts.

Animals don’t rush them.

They don’t demand explanations.

They respond only to presence, consistency, and calm.

As veterans learn to read an animal’s body language, ears, posture, movement, they begin to slow their own bodies and minds. That quiet exchange helps regulate the nervous system, rebuild trust, and restore a sense of purpose without ever calling it “therapy.”

We do this because healing doesn’t always happen in offices or with words.

Sometimes it happens in the stillness of a run -in, pen or in the pasture, or a shared moment of trust.
